.TERMINAL VELOCITY



Needs a fairly fast machine, at least a Pentium 100



In this game, you fly an attack aircraft, and you must shoot down the other
aircraft around you, and attack the targets also (usually power stations,
some have a radar dish).  Look for flying lozenges and orange spheres, these
are powerups for your fuel and weapons.

In the cockpit display, the top orange line is your shield strength, and the
bottom blue line is your speed.

Keys
Arrow keys to turn left & right, and up & down.
Home & page up to adjust yaw (one wing goes up and one goes down, ie the
body of the aircraft rotates).
A to go faster, Z to go slower
F1 for more help
1 to 7 select different weapons, provided you have ammo for them.
Space to fire

Weapons are
1 = PAC (green laser)
2 = ION (rocket)
3 = RTL (purple laser)
4 = MAM (rocket)
5 = SAD               )
6 = SWT               ) Registered version only
7 = DAM               )

The powerups will provide ammo for these weapons, also Afterburner,
Invisibility and Invincibility.

Command line options
-turbo = game goes 50% faster
-hyper = game goes 100% faster
-pause = game pauses between loading TV.EXE and GAME.EXE

Cheats
Type in these words while the game is in progress. Some letters control
things, so make sure you are not going to damage yourself first.

What doesn't work in the Shareware Version:
You can only select the first game, the other two give you ordering info.
You can't fire the SAD, SWT or DAM weapons. That's why I can't describe them.

Terminal Velocity


+ Extra Keys - Each of the following must be invoked from the main menu.  If
               they don't work on their own, try holding [ctrl] down before
               pressing the desired letter.

         [Z] - Display benchmark statistics for your computer.  THIS ONE WORKS
         [M] - Play a MOD file.
         [B] - Play a TVI animation file.
         [S] - Sound debug mode.
         [R] - Record a demo.
         [P] - Play a demo.

When you start a new game in the registered CD version, you can get to the
hidden planet by entering "Terminal" as your name and "Reality" as your
call sign.  (Both of these are case sensitive.)  Before you start playing
the hidden planet, a message appears saying you are flying the TV-302, a
new, experimental ship.  As far as gameplay is concerned, no, you're not
flying a new ship; this is simply an element of the game's storyline.
The hidden planet is not in the shareware version or the disk based
registered version.

Also, in level 3-1 of Terminal Velocity, fly close to the ground near the
coordinates (63,227).  You will see a photographic image of the Terminal
Reality team.  If you fly too high, the fog will obstruct the view.  A
clearer version of this can be found as a GIF file on the Terminal
Velocity CD in the PREVIEW directory.
