.SOKOBAN 1984 Spectrum Holobyte Soko-ban (Storeman) is a Brain-Teaser game. The object is to push the blocks onto the diamond-marked places on the board. Boards 1 (easy) to 50 (hard) cannot be altered, however boards 51-100 are user-programmable by using the built-in editor. To start enter SOKOBAN.EXE and press enter. The time will be reset to 0:00. You will now either have a question to answer, or be walking outside a building, depending on what version you have. VERSION 1: You will be asked for IBM-CGA or TANDY. Press C then press enter. Then you will be asked if you want to use the keyboard or joystick. Press K or J and enter. You will be see the outside of a building. Press space and enter every so often until you see 3 doors. VERSION 2: You will see the outside of a building. Press space and enter every so often until the game starts. You will be asked for IBM-CGA or TANDY. Press C then press enter. Then you will be asked if you want to use the keyboard or joystick. Press K or J and enter, and now you see a room with 3 doors. ALL VERSIONS: You are now in the lobby. To choose, move the man to the wanted door and press enter. The next screen has a picture of 4 men plus choice of exit, play, number of minutes. The cursor is next to player 1. Your choices are: 1. Press enter. You can choose Single, Tournament or Cancel. Cancel and Tournament restart this screen. Single starts you at the last level you were at last time you played. (See the note below about the un-named player.) 2. Enter your name and press enter twice. This will place you at the level selector. This is a wall with buttons, rather like the buttons in an elevator. To select floor 1, press 1A. If you made a mistake press C. To get to the lobby, press 0A or L. 3. Enter your name, press enter, enter another name, enter (optionally enter up to 4 players). This is Tournament mode. Choose 'Play Game'. (Cancel restarts this screen, Exit takes you to the lobby.) Use the arrows to select the number of minutes (1-20), press enter. The next screen contains a matrix of all levels available. Use the arrows to select the levels you wish to play. Press enter to select each one. You can only select levels which have been defined. Press Esc. Select OK, Cancel, or Play all levels. The next screen has a list of players, levels, points etc. Use the arrows to select OK, Quit, Save. Press enter, the game will begin. Now, the game begins. You then get a board. The keys are: Arrow keys to move and push one block about. Esc to get back to the elevator. P to show stats. Press enter to get back. U to undo your last footstep. If you were pushing a block, it will move too. F1 to restart the level (in case you got stuck). When you successfully complete a level, you will automatically start the next. Editing = Menu "inside" the door enables you to make your own layout, test it and save it. You can only save it as a level in the range of 51-100.
