       NOTES FOR MY VERSION OF CANNON FODDER
       -------------------------------------

       This game requires a 386, 610k memory, and mouse driver loaded. There
is no documentation or help at all.  Some zero-byte files are missing from
the zip file.  They are   E.S,    A.B,    C.A,   and  ~.E  .
The file ICECOPT.DAT is also missing, you can copy another ???COPT.DAT file
to it (needed for missions that feature ice scenes, eg mission 3).
After unzipping the ZIP file, run INSTALL and use the CONFIGURE option.
Then SAVE SETTINGS.   Then you can enter CANNON to start the game.

Click the left mouse button to skip unwanted scenes, until you see the overhead
view of the battlefield. You are now playing.  Use the mouse:

Left       Move soldiers to the mouse pointer
Right      Shoot at the mouse pointer

Watch out for the red stuff, it's quicksand. The enemy is immune to it.

Known keyboard controls:

F1         Instant quit to DOS
P          Pause
Enter      Mission or phase complete

Click on the squashed globe for the map.

The game may eventually give a black screen, due to some bug. You
can only press F1 to quit to DOS.

When you load a game (from the screen with all the soldiers), you can
choose M1 to M24 which takes you to that mission number.

       NOTES FOR THE OFFICIAL VERSION (from cheat sites)
       ------------------------------

Press Tab to enter the map screen. Hold Ctrl and type CFODDER (or FODDER)
A white border will appear around the screen. You may have to wait for
the white border to disappear. Exit the map and return to the game.
When you press enter, a message will say 'Phase Complete' signifying the end of
that level.

(note: you don't have to go to the map each time and type the
cheat, all you need to do is press enter each time)

Click load icon then hold down both mouse buttons for a few
seconds and release. A screen will appear with hard-man
option and level select.

You could also try to save your game with the name JOOLS or JOOLSA and see what happens.
