SYMPTOMS
========

When you try to run the Create A Collection wizard on a machine using a NTFS
partition, you receive the following error message:

  16 bit Windows Subsystem

  An application has attempted to directly access the hard disk, which cannot be
  supported. This may cause the application to function incorrectly. Choose
  'Close' to terminate the application.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve the problem, do one of the following:

- Click Ignore. The Create A Collection wizard should now run.

  -or-

- Install Scenes on a machine that does not have a NTFS partition.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Scenes version 2.0. We
are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft
Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
