SYMPTOMS
========

When you use the Suspend command on certain Gateway laptop computers, battery
power drains.

The following Gateway computers are known to exhibit this behavior:

- ColorBook 4SX25

- ColorBook 4SX33

- ColorBook 4DX33

- Liberty

- Solo


CAUSE
=====

The BIOS in the computer requires an upgrade.

RESOLUTION
==========

Upgrade the computer's BIOS. Contact Gateway Technical Support for additional
information.

MORE INFORMATION
================

When Suspend mode is in use, the PCMCIA slots should be receiving 0 volts. On
the computers listed above, the PCMCIA slots receive 2.5 volts, draining the
battery.
