SYMPTOMS
========

Words that you add to the custom dictionary do not appear in the custom
dictionary.


CAUSE
=====

This problem occurs when the following are true:

- You click the Undo button in the Spelling And Grammar dialog box (Tools
  menu).

  -and-

- You did not select the Check Spelling As You Type option. (To locate this
  option, click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the Spelling And
  Grammar tab.)

WORKAROUND
==========

To work around this problem, do the following before you run the spelling
checker:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling And Grammar
  tab.

2. Click to select the Check Spelling As You Type check box.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the
beginning of this article.
