SYMPTOMS
========

If you open a Microsoft Word for Windows, version 6.0, document in Microsoft
Word for Windows 95, version 7.0, and double-click an embedded PowerPoint slide
or presentation, you receive one of the following error messages:

  Word cannot edit the Microsoft PowerPoint Slide

-or-

  Word cannot edit the Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation.

This error may occur if you create the document on a computer running Microsoft
Word, version 6.0, and PowerPoint, version 4.0, and open it on a computer
running Microsoft Word, version 7.0 and PowerPoint, version 7.0.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at
the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft
PowerPoint 97.
