SYMPTOMS
========

When you click a hyperlink in Word to open the link in Internet Explorer and
then click the Back button to switch back to Word, nothing happens and Internet
Explorer remains active.

CAUSE
=====

This is a timing issue: This problem occurs when you start Internet Explorer 3.x
from Word, and Internet Explorer finishes starting before Word can establish a
connection to it.

RESOLUTION
==========

To correct this problem, upgrade to Internet Explorer version 4.0 or later.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at
the beginning of this article.
