SYMPTOMS
========

When the default template in Microsoft Word uses page layout view and Microsoft
Outlook uses Word as its e-mail editor, the default view in Word changes to
normal view.

WORKAROUND
==========

To work around this problem, do not use Word as the e-mail editor in Outlook. To
do this, follow these steps:

1. In Microsoft Outlook, click Options on the Tools menu.

2. On the E-mail tab, click to clear the "Use Microsoft Word as the e-mail
  editor" check box, and then click OK.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products that are
listed at the beginning of this article.

This problem has been corrected in Word 2000.
