SYMPTOMS
========

When you attempt to start any of the games listed at the beginning of this
article, you may experience either of the following symptoms:

- The game may stop responding (hang).

- The computer may stop responding (hang).

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if all of the following conditions are true:

- You are using a Microsoft Windows 98-based computer.

- A Matrox Mystique 220 video adapter is installed in the computer.

- You are using version 4.12 of the Matrox Mystique 220 video driver.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, download and install version 4.11 of the Matrox Mystique
220 video driver from the following Matrox Web site:

http://www.matrox.com/mga/drivers/unified_drivers/ftp_2nd_w9x.htm

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products that are
listed at the beginning of this article.

You can also resolve this issue by installing the Matrox Mystique video driver
included with Windows 98. However, the Windows 98 version of the video driver
does not include the additional features available with version 4.11 of the
Matrox Mystique 220 video driver.
