The Outlook Address Book has a feature to File As for each contact that
determines how the contacts are viewed when choosing the Contacts item and the
Outlook Address Book.

Steps to sort your Contacts (Outlook Address Book) and Personal Address Book
entries by Last Name.

NOTE: Theses steps assume you are using Corporate Workgroup Mode.

1. On the Tools menu, click Services.

2. Select Outlook Address Book, then click Properties.

3. Select the "File As (Smith, John)" option, and click Close.

4. On the Tools menu, click Services.

5. Select Personal Address Book, then click Properties.

6. Select the "Last name (Smith, John)" option, and click Close.

NOTE: You may need to exit and log off for this to take effect.
