SYMPTOMS
========

When Exchange Server issues Japanese Industry Standard (JIS) shift character set
commands, the correct naming context is not set properly, thereby displaying the
wrong characters.

CAUSE
=====

When a shift character set command is issued but is currently in the wrong
context, Exchange Server does not switch to the correct naming context for the
character shift.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Exchange Server
version 5.5. For additional information, please see the following article in the

======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server
