The information in this article applies to:

- Microsoft Windows NT Server versions 4.0, 4.0 SP4, 4.0 SP5, Terminal Server Edition
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========

When a session that is shadowing another session is disconnected, you may
receive a "STOP 0x1E" error message.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior occurs because of a race condition that exists between the
disconnect and the end of the shadow. One of the threads hits a hard-coded
breakpoint because of this race condition, which causes the error message.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows NT Server
version 4.0, Terminal Server Edition. For additional information, please see the

STATUS

Server Edition Service Pack 6.
