SYMPTOMS
========
When you attempt to import a Microsoft Excel data file into Microsoft MapPoint
2001, you may receive the following error message
There was a problem opening <filename>.
where <filename> is the name of the Excel data file that you attempted to
import.
CAUSE
=====
This behavior can occur if the Excel data file contains a worksheet with a
period in the worksheet name.
RESOLUTION
==========
To resolve this issue, rename the worksheet to remove the period from the
worksheet name.
STATUS
======
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft MapPoint 2001.
