Blinking Mail Light
Each MSN Companion has a mail indicator light. If the unit is turned off and mail
comes in, the light blinks. The light stops blinking when you sign in, but
remains lit until you check your e-mail. If mail comes in while you are online,
the light will blink twice and remain on until you check your account.
Mailbox Features:
- write mail - Opens a new e-mail message.
- open address book - List of e-mail addresses of your contacts.
- new mail - Mail you haven't read yet.
- old mail - Mail you have read but haven't deleted.
- sent mail - Mail you wrote.
- trash can - Mail you don't want to keep.
Note: There is only one mailbox in MSN Companion, and it is not
password-protected.
Downloading Mail
Mail must be downloaded from the server each time the machine is turned on. If
there is a lot of mail in the new mail mailbox, this process can take a long
time.
Reading mail
To view received mail, on the Start page click read mail or click the Mail icon
on the toolbar. Mail must be downloaded each time the machine is turned on. If
you receive a lot of mail, this process may take a long time.
Deleting Mail
To delete mail, click delete. Mail in MSN Companion must be deleted
individually.
Sending Mail
1. To send new mail, on either the Start page or the my mail page, click write
mail, or click on an e-mail address in the address book.

To respond to or forward mail you received, click reply, reply to all, or
forward message.
2. To address your mail, either select a recipient from your address book list
or type an e-mail address in the input box where is says choose or type
people to send mail to.
3. Type a subject statement in the input box in which it says type a subject
here.
4. Type your e-mail content in the input box in which it says type a message
here.
5. Click send mail.
