SYMPTOMS
========
When you are in the Asheron's Call portal, you may receive the following error
message:
Corrupt or missing data (region information). Exiting...
CAUSE
=====
This behavior can occur if one or more files in the Asheron's Call folder are
damaged.
RESOLUTION
==========
To resolve this issue:
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Asheron's Call, and then click
Add/Remove.
4. Follow the instructions on the screen to uninstall Asheron's Call.
5. Insert the Asheron's Call CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
If Asheron's Call Setup does not start automatically:
a. Click Start, and then click Run.
b. In the Open box, type the following line, and then click OK
<drive>:\setup.exe
where <drive> is the drive letter of the CD-ROM drive.
6. Follow the instructions on the screen to install Asheron's Call.
7. When you start Asheron's Call again the program will be automatically updated
to the current version. It is recommended that you update Asheron's Call with
the Game Download Patch prior to starting the program. Installing the patch
will update the program as much as possible, resulting in a much quicker
automatic update. The patch is available for download and install at:
http://zone.msn.com/asheronscall/downloads.asp
For the best results, it is recommended that you download the Game Download
Patch only if you have a high-speed Internet connection (DSL, cable modem, or
T1)
