SYMPTOMS
========
During account set-up the modem will not dial and no dial tone is heard.
Customer is able to plug a regular phone into the unit and successfully place a
regular call.
CAUSE
=====
Unit's modem may be defective.
RESOLUTION
==========
1. Make certain the unit is plugged in.
2. Check to ensure that the phone line is working by plugging a regular phone
into the unit and trying to place a regular call.
3. Listen carefully to determine if the MSN Companion unit is dailing
correctly.
If the unit is not dialing the unit needs to be returned and replaced. Please
contact your equipment manufacturer.
