that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot
guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor
incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

To resolve this issue, increase the PPP Maximum Configure and Failure Timeout

2. Locate and then select the following registry key:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP:MaxConfigure

3. On the Edit menu, click Modify, and then type "20" (without the quotation
marks) in the Value Data field. Make sure that Hexadecimal is selected under
  Base.

4. Click OK.

5. Locate and then select the following registry key:

  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\RasMan\PPP:MaxFailure

6. On the Edit menu, click Modify, and then type "20" (without the quotation
marks) in the Value Data field. Make sure that Hexadecimal is selected under
  Base.

7. Click OK.

8. Quit Registry Editor.
