This article describes how to delete Preference Files in the Macintosh Operating
System so you can reset the application to default settings. Preference Files
may become corrupted through regular computer use. Corrupted Preference Files
may prevent you from successfully connecting to or browsing the Internet.

To delete the Preference Files related to MSN Internet Access in Macintosh
Operating System 8.6 and 9.x
Use these procedures as final troubleshooting step to reset Control Panel
settings to default configurations. Before attempting this, make a note of all
information from each Control Panel associated with these specific Preference
Files.

1. Browse to [MacSystemHardDrive]: System Folder: Preferences.

2. Select TCP/IP Preferences, Modem Preferences, Internet, and Remote Access
  Preferences.
  Note: All of these settings are in the Remote Access folder.

3. Click and drag the files into Trash.
  Note: Do not Empty Trash until you've confirmed that the troubleshooting was
  successful.
