abstract

WAN31A.EXE is the current maintenance patch for "WAN Extensions" for NetWare MultiProtocol Router 3.1 (MPR 3.1). WAN31A.EXE adds one feature and one fix. Novell recommends that all WAN Extensions 3.1 owners download WAN31A.EXE.

installation

1. First, download and install MPR31A.EXE.

2. Only apply the files in WAN31A.EXE to a server that has WAN Extensions 3.1 installed.

3. Make a backup copy of the files being replaced by WAN31A.

4. Create a directory called WANEX1.

5. Put WAN31A.EXE in WANEX1.

6. "Explode" WAN31A.EXE.
(If you want to install WAN31A from a floppy, then copy it to a floppy with the volume label WANEX1.

7. Load INSTALL.NLM.

8. Select Product Options.

9. (NetWare 4.1 only, for NetWare 3.12 skip to #10) Select
View/Configure/Remove Install Products.
                          
10. Verify that WAN Extensions v3.1 is installed.

11. Press <ins> to install WAN31A.

12. Point INSTALL to the extracted files.

13. Follow the prompts to install MPR31A.

14. Down the server and bring it back up.

15. If you have not already done so, download, and apply, MPR31A.EXE.

Patch History:
Patch WAN31A.EXE is the first PTF for WAN Extension 3.1.

ATMWAA could abend when an ATM HSM refused a requested Quality of Service contract.
