Upgrade Activation Key Program

General Description
All NetWare/intraNetWare upgrade products require that the installer/user obtain an activation key to unlock the license diskette before performing an upgrade of the product. The upgrade kits (boxes) come with a subassembly in a clear plastic shrink-wrap. The subassembly contains a diskette and upgrade activation forms (in English, Espa±ol, Deutsch, Francais, Italiano, and PortuguÛs). The forms include: instructions for requesting an activation key, a license agreement, phone and fax numbers for all activation centers and an application which must be filled out and faxed to an activation center to obtain a key.

Products which have Activation Keys
The upgrade activation key program applies to the following products:
         NetWare 3.12 UPGRADE KIT
         intraNetWare/NetWare 4.11 SERVER UPGRADE KIT
intraNetWare UPGRADE KIT (additive license pack)
NetWare 4.1 UPGRADE KIT (additive license)

Identifying Activation Key Products
All upgrade activation key products come with a bright red sticky label or seal with a gold (or yellow) key symbol to draw attention to the fact that the product must be activated before installation. The seal is place so that it must be broken in order to open the box.

Has the License (Diskette) been Activated?
When the product ships, the license diskette has no active license. After the license (diskette) has been activated, the license file will appear on the diskette. For the NetWare 3.12 Upgrade, the license is the server.exe. For the intraNetWare\NetWare 4.11 Upgrade, intraNetWare\NetWare 4.11 Additive License, and the NetWare 4.1 Additive License products, the license file is the server.mls file.

The NetWare 3.12 Upgrade diskette has a white label with black lettering like the following:

NetWare 3.12 UPGRADE
Server Connection License
