abstract

This file contains an updated MAP.EXE for NetWare 4.10

installation

1. Replace the file MAP.EXE in the SYS:\LOGIN and SYS:\PUBLIC
directories with the new MAP.EXE file.

 2. Replace the file MAP.MSG in the SYS:\LOGIN\NLS\ENGLISH and
SYS:\PUBLIC\NLS\ENGLISH directories with the new MAP.MSG file.

issue

Fixes:

1) With the shipping NetWare v4.10 MAP.EXE, the current path of search drives mapped as root drives is not searched; rather, the root is always searched. For example, if you
MAP ROOT S1:=SYS:\PUBLIC
then
CD SYS:PUBLIC\UTILS
the UTILS directory will not be searched. This is a result of the PATH statement being changed to PATH=Z:. (current directory) instead of PATH=Z:\ (root directory) as was the case in earlier versions of NetWare.

2) Sparse files are sometimes truncated.

3) When copying file(s) from a network drive, files which do not have extensions are not copied.

4) When copying file(s) from a network drive to a local drive, if the destination drive ran out of disk space, the source file would be deleted and a portion file being copied would be left on the destination drive.
