installation

REQUIREMENTS:
 - Hardware must be year 2000 ready (check with your hardware vendor)
 - Current BorderManager Support Pack
These patches can be found on the Support Connection CD and on the Internet at http://support.novell.com

NOTE: This Year 2000 patch only updates portions of BorderManager, it does not update the Netware OS. In order to ensure other Novell products are Year 2000 ready see the Novell Year 2000 website at http://www.novell.com/p2000/product.html for a complete list of Year 2000 patches that you may require.

INSTALLATION:

Step I. Updating ConnectView 2.1

If you are running ConnectView, exit out of the program first.
 2. Create a directory SYS:\BM21Y2K
 3. "Explode" BM21Y2K.EXE into SYS:\BM21Y2K
 4. On your server, rename SYS:\PUBLIC\CVIEW\DISK1\NWCVIEW.EX_ to NWCVIEW.OLD
 5. Copy SYS:\BM21Y2K\NWCVIEW.EX_ to SYS:\PUBLIC\CVIEW\DISK1
 6. Reinstall ConnectView on your workstation by running SETUP from the SYS:\PUBLIC\CVIEW\DISK1 directory.

Step 2. Updating IPX/IP gateway

2 On you server, rename SYS:SYSTEM\IPXIPGW.NLM to IPXIPGW.OLD

symptoms

ConnectView 2.1
1) The value 2000 could not be entered in date ranges. Now values from 1980 to
2099 can be entered as four digit numbers.

 2) The values 80 through 99 can now be entered to mean 1980 to 1999, while the
values 0 through 79 can be entered to mean 2000 through 2079.

 3) The year 2000 will now be displayed as "00" instead of "100" if the Windows
system was set up with two digit years in its short date format. (The year 2000
was always displayed as "2000" when a four digit year format was selected.)

 4) Leap Day (Feb 29) can now be accepted as the Ending Date of a range. Previously, under certain conditions, this was not possible.

IPX/IP Gateway (BorderManager version only)
1) The year "2000" is displayed as "100"
