abstract

This update allows the NFS 2.3 / UNIX Print Services 2.3 license to be installed from any drive as opposed to just A:. This patch is not needed for UNIX Print Services 2.31 or 2.3J, nor for any version of NFS other than 2.3.

installation

(1) Copy the CD for NetWare NFS Services 2.3 or Print Services 2.3 for UNIX to a NetWare volume and subdirectory, as follows (These particular subdirectory names are required): volume:NWNFS or volume:NWUXPS
(2) Copy PINSTALL.NLM from this patch to volume:NWNFS directory or volume:NWUXPS directory as applicable.
(3) Copy PINSTALL.MSG file to volume:NWNFS\SYSTEM\NLS\4 or to volume:NWUXPS\SYSTEM\NLS\4 directory.
(4) Load INSTALL.NLM from the file server.
(5) Choose Product Options -> Install a product not listed -> F3 to specify a different path.
(6) Enter the path name as volume:NWNFS or volume:NWUXPS as applicable.
(7) Copy the PKERNEL.NLM from the license diskette's \SYSTEM directory to volume:LICENSES\SYSTEM directory.
(8) Now when the install procedure asks for the license diskette, put in the license directory path as volume:LICENSES directory.

The rest of the install procedure is same as given in Quick Path card that accompanies this product.

symptoms

NFS 2.3 and UNIX Print Services 2.3 cannot be installed if the server does not have a floppy drive to put in the license diskette.
