abstract

This patch resolves a page fault abend problem with nwnsrename utility. This patch is only for nfs2.3 running on nw4.xx platform.

installation

(1) Run unistop and bring down the nfs services after making sure nobody is using it.

(2) Copy the new nfs.nam into sys:system directory and nfs.msg file to sys:system\nls\4 directory after backing up the old files.

(3) Down the server after making sure nobody is using the netware server.

(4) Copy the new nfs.nam file into the directory containing server boot files.

(5) Restart the server

symptoms

 Any attempt to rename a file in the NFS name space using third party NWNSRename utility used to crash the server with a Page Fault Processor Exception error in a serverxx process.
