abstract

NWIPADM.NLM 4.00a, January 29, 2002, contained in this download is intended for use with NetWare/IP 2.2x on NetWare 4.2. It can also be used on NetWare 4.11; however, that version of NetWare is no longer supported by Novell.

This NLM should NOT be used with any version of NETDB.NLM prior to 4.10a, August 14, 2000 (NETDB 4.10a can be obtained in NetWare 4 Support Pack 9).

installation

1. Rename the existing SYS:SYSTEM\NWIPADM.NLM.
2. Copy the new NWIPADM.NLM to SYS:SYSTEM\
3. It is not necessary to stop and start NetWare/IP, but to be sure the new NWIPADM.NLM can load as needed, fully close the UNICON.NLM management interface (reload UNICON when necessary).

issue

One of the data structures which NWIPADM.NLM relies upon was previously changed in NETDB.NLM, but NWIPADM.NLM was not recompiled with the new structure until this time. Because of this, systems using NETDB.NLM 4.10a (or newer) and NetWare/IP are at risk for an abend when selecting the 'Display all DSSes' option in UNICON -> Manage Services -> NetWare IP.

This new build uses the same data structure which NETDB 4.10a (or newer) uses, so the abend will not occur. This NLM should NOT be used with any version of NETDB.NLM prior to 4.10a, August 14, 2000.
