Aptiva - 2139 DVD Player does not play normally in 1024x768 resolution with 24 bit or 32 bit color palette

Symptom:
DVD player flashes and loses frames after changing resolution to 1024 x768 at 24 or 32 bit color depth.
Resolution:
This is normal for this resolution on a system with 4MB of video memory. ATI Motion Compensation only works in resolutions of 1024 x768 x 16bpp or less. Try using a lower resolution or color depth.
