PC800 - On board Ethernet attachment

Symptom:
Problems attaching to an Ethernet network using the PC 800 planar ethernet.
Problem Isolation Aids:
None.
Fix:
If you are having problems with the PC800 on-board ethernet then check the adapter address. If this is 8005AF8AABB then a planar upgrade is required. This is how you display the on-board ethernet hardware address:-
1. Load SMS (hit PF4 during boot);
2. Pick option 4 (Utilities);
3. Pick option 11 (RIPL Setup);
4. Pick option 2 (Adapter Parameters);
5. Choose 'IBM PCI Integrated Ethernet';
6. Hardware address is displayed.
