PS/2 Server 95 - Spurious characters displayed loading TAPEDRV in Netware3.1x
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom
When loading the NLM TAPEDRV which autoloads TAPEBD.NLM, the server (9595) sometimes stops working and the screen is covered with rapidly scrolling columns of hex digits. The only way out is to cold-boot the server. Without REALMFIX.NLM and DAICCFIX.NLM this invariably happens.
Problem Isoaltion Aids
The reason is that you have added more RAM (above 16MB) to the server and not changed the AUTOEXEC.NCF to load the TAPEBD.NLM correctly.
Fix:
Before the LOAD TAPEDRV statement, add 'LOAD TAPEBD ABOVE 16' if the machine has 16MB RAM or higher.
