TP 701 - Fixing undetermined problems
Applicable to: World-Wide
Description:
My ThinkPad 701 is having strange problems (won't hibernate, no memory count on boot up or other symptoms), but I can't find anything wrong. What can I do?
Solution:
Sometimes this can be the result of corrupted CMOS settings. Try pressing/holding both mouse buttons during a cold boot (power off) until the POST beep. This will reset all CMOS settings to the factory defaults. This has been know to correct the above problems.
