IBM 3152 Display Terminals - FRU Substitution (AFE and EMEA only)
Applicable to: AP-S, EMEA
Due to a shortage of 3152 fru part no. 34G6619 it may be necessary to use a 3153 as a substitute. If advised by IMPL that 3152 is not available, it will be necessary to order the individual 3153 elements (video+keyboard) required to replace the 3152. ( NOTE 3152 keyboard does not attach to a 3153).
THIS TIP EXPLAINS HOW TO DETERMINE THE VIDEO AND KEYBOARD PART NUMBERS YOU WILL REQUIRE. BEFORE PROCEEDING YOU MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION AVAILABLE:
1. Is host communication RS232 or RS422A?
2. Is keyboard style PS/2 or ASCII?
3. What keyboard language is required?
Based on this information select from video and keyboard part numbers listed below:
