IBM PC300GL (Type 6267, 6277, 6287) - Blue screen error after formatting 720K diskette

SYMPTOM:
After using the Windows 98 graphical interface (GUI) to perform a full format of a 720k diskette, Windows 98 does not allow information to be written to the diskette.
PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:
This tip applies, but is not limited to IBM PC300GL Series 6267/77/87 systems running Windows 98.
The error condition is seen if an attempt to copy data to the diskette is made immediately after a full format is performed.
FIX:
The error condition can be avoided by either of the following methods:
1. Format the diskette from a DOS window using the "format a: /f:720" command.
2. Remove, and replace the diskette in the diskette drive before attempting to copy information to the diskette.
