PC800 - Configuring A Token Ring Adapter
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom:
Token Ring Adapter fails to bind in PC 800
Problem Isolation Aids:
None.
Fix:
The Token Ring adapters supported are the IBM Token Ring ISA-16 Adapter and the Token Ring Auto ISA Adapter. The following settings are required in order for the card to function in a Windows NT environment:
*ROM Address DC00
*I/O Address A24 (Secondary)
*IRQ 2/9
*Shared RAM 16K
In addition the Auto T-R Adapter needs the 'auto sense' parameter set to 'no'. This card can be configured by going to the RIPL section of Systems Management Services (SMS). The RIPL menu is under 'Utilities' on the main menu. When selecting the adapter in the Windows NT Network Setup list, make sure you configure as 'alternate' adapter and not 'primary'.
