Netfinity7000 - Locks up when loading AIC7870.dsk
Applicable to: World-Wide
If you are installing IntranetWare 4.11 on an IBM Netfinity 7000 using a PCI Adaptec 2940 card (not Adaptec contollers built into system) and you do not select the default SMP support, the server could lock up when loading AIC7870.DSK.
If this happens, restart the installation and try one of the following options:
1. Create using Diskette Factory or obtain the diskette for the "7800 Family Manager" Version 2.11, which has the latest IntranetWare driver for the Adaptec cards. Use this diskette to load the driver and replace the one(s) listed on the IntranetWare driver menu.
2. At the IntranetWare driver menu, deselect the AIC7870 driver(s) of the card(s) that are not being used (disabled) on your system.
3. At the intranetWare install program, choose the default SMP support option.
