TP 760E/ED/EL/ELD - Hang in Windows 95 after new hardware found for PCMCIA controller

SYMPTOM:
At each reboot in Windows 95, the operating system will find new hardware, install drivers for it (PCMCIA drivers for example) and then hang.
CONFIGURATION:
Any ThinkPad 760E/ED/EL/ELD running Windows 95.
SOLUTION:
Even if the floppy drive appears to be seated correctly, remove the floppy drive and then reseat it and the hang condition should disappear on the next reboot.
