TP 770 - General protection fault in GDI.EXE on TP 770.

SYMPTOM:
ThinkPad 770 gives a GPF in GDI.EXE at bootup. The computer will only boot to safe mode.
CONFIGURATION:
ALL hardware, BIOS date, operating system, drivers and applications involved.
SOLUTION:
1.) Restart the computer, during boot up, when "Starting Windows 95..." appears, press the F8 key.
2.) Choose option for Safe Mode.
3.) Click on Start -->Settings --> Control Panel
4.) Open the System Icon, and go to the Performance tab.
5.) Click on Graphics and turn the hardware acceleration down to basic (one notch above "none"). This will allow the computer to boot to normal mode
6.) Restart the computer.
7.) Download the latest Video Features Diskette, version 1.10 or later and install it. (Click HERE to obtain the file) After installation you should be able to turn the hardware acceleration back to "full".
