Servers - Oracle install fails in UnixWare 2.1
Applicable to: World-Wide
Symptom:
During Oracle 7.3.2. installation from CD, the installation process hung, the SCSI adapter LED remained lit, and the CD-ROM locked. The error log subsystem did not report this malfunction. Although the Oracle installation process was locked, operating system processes still worked.
Resolution:
The problem was caused by a mix of 8 and 16 bit SCSI devices on the bus. Terminate the bus with a 16 bit active device.
