Description
These files will apply an update to the Access Aptiva application on your Aptiva Model 2140 or 2142 system. This update is required if you have installed Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0. Without this update applied, Access Aptiva will be displayed asa blank white block and will not function.

These files are designed to resolve compatibility issues between "Access Aptiva" and Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0. This update is required on any IBM Aptiva model 2140 and 2142 that did not include Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0.

NOTE: If Internet Explorer 4.0 was included with your computer, DO NOT USE THIS UPDATE. All necessary updates have already been made for you.

NOTE: Access Aptiva MUST be closed prior to installing this update.

Installation Instructions:
This update requires that you have two blank 1.44MB diskettes.

1. Click each of the file links above to download the files to your hard drive.
2. Label one of your blank 1.44MB diskettes Disk1. Label the remaining blank diskette Disk2.
3. Select Start -> Find -> Files or Folders.
4. Ensure that the Look In field is set to My Computer.
5. Enter accie4*.exe in the Named field and click Find Now. This will search your hard drive for the files you've just downloaded. When found, the files will be listed for you.
6. Insert Disk1 into the diskette drive.
7. Double click accie4_1.exe and follow the onscreen instructions. This will extract the necessary files to Disk1.
8. Insert Disk2 into the diskette drive.
9. Double click accie4_2.exe and follow the onscreen instructions. This will extract the necessary files to Disk2.
10. Insert Disk1 into drive A:
11. Select Start -> Run.
12. Enter a:\install.bat in the Open field.
13. The needed files will be copied to your computer.
14. When prompted, remove Disk1 and insert Disk2.
15. Press any key to continue copying.
16. When installation is finished, you must reboot the computer for the changes to take effect.
