TP 600,770 - MPEG-2 files not playing correctly after installing DirectX 6

SYMPTOM:
1. After installing DirectX 6 on the 770 or 600, some MPEG-2 files may stop during playback.
2. Playback of MPEG-2 files may have video distortion
CONFIGURATION:
Thinkpad 770 and 600 with Windows 95/98 installed using the Mediamatics DVD Express player. Symptom may occur with or without the DVD and Enhanced Video Adapter option (this is a 770 option only).
WORKAROUND:
The problem is under investigation and no workaround exists at this time. So the IBM Support recommendation is to not install DirectX 6 at this time if MPEG-2 playback is required.
