IBM PC330/PC350 - Windows 95 identifies computer name as "Illegal Computer"
Applicable to: World-Wide
Text :
In some early versions of the preloaded operating system on IBM PC 300 Series 6577/6587 systems, the Microsoft code could name the computer "Illegal Computer". The only way to change this is to edit the OEMINFO.INI file found in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM. This is not in any way a Windows 95 error message. You may name the computer anything you wish. The code was changed in later systems to name the system "IBM Personal Computer".
