Servers - Windows NT unable to create second logical drive
Applicable to: World-Wide
Problem:
Unable to create a second logical drive in Windows NT 4.0.
Solution:
Edit the BOOT.INI file on C: as described below (use "attrib -s -h -r boot.ini").
If the NT first boot choice line in the BOOT.INI file looks like this:
scsi(0)disk(97)rdisk(0)partition(1)
Change it to look like this:
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)
NOTES:
- You MUST use "multi" instead of "scsi."
- The rdisk value will be "0" for the A0 logical drive and "1" for the A1 logical drive, as defined by the RAID configuration diskette.
- The partition value will be "1" for the first partition on whichever logical disk is being used and "2" for the second.
