TP 760E/ED/XD,765 - Second CD-ROM drive appears after installing driver while in SelectaDock under DOS/Windows
Applicable to: World-Wide
SYMPTOM:
If you install Windows 3.11 on a 760E/ED/XD or 765 and have the CD in the Select-A-Dockthe unit will install (2) CD-ROM drives. This is using the CDTPGDV2.EXE file. The problem is the following line:
DEVICE=C:\CDROM\IBMTPCD.SYS /R
SOLUTION:
Change the line to read as follows:
DEVICE=C:\CDROM\IBMTPCD.SYS /D:TPCD001
Once you reboot, the system will only detect (1) drive. Of course if you likes having two CD-ROM drives don't worry about it. This fix solves the multiple drive problem ,but when out of the docking station, it will not install the CD-ROM driver if the CD isn't in the unit.
