ABSTRACT:
Random HDD Boot Failures
SYMPTOM:
Random hardfile boot failures on a Server 320 with an external 8 bit device attached.
PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:
The system is a Server 320 Microchannel with an 8 bit external device attached.
FIX:
- Settings for initiate wide negotiation.
- Fix is set to 'No' (Default is 'Yes')
- Refer to the ADAPTEC User's Guide for possible problems using 8 bit external devices.
