Netfinity 5000 - Tape rails, location in system
Applicable to: EMEA
Source: RETAIN tip H057750
Abstract: NETFINITY 5000 TAPE RAILS - LOCATION IN SYSTEM
SYMPTOM:
Netfinity 5000 tape drive rails appear to be missing.
PROBLEM ISOLATION AIDS:
Problems may be experienced when trying to fit a tape drive to the system if not using the rails supplied inside the system.
FIX:
Fitting tape drive to a Netfinity 5000 system.
Located inside the system, attached to the chassis are two tape drive rails. These rails are required for mounting a tape drive in a Netfinity 5000 system, as any supplied with a tape drive Option will not fit correctly.
Remove system cover. This will allow access to the rails.
Rack model - the rails are located in the left hand corner of the chassis, behind the front bezel, when looking in from the top
and front of the system. They are adjacent to the planar release lever, screwed to the chassis base. Unscrew the rails with a
plain head screwdriver and fit to your tape drive.
Tower model - the rails are located in the bottom right hand corner of the chassis, behind the front bezel, when looking in
from the side of the system. They are adjacent to the planar release lever, screwed to the chassis base. Unscrew the rails
with a plain head screwdriver and fit to your tape.
