lp 150-200 files in a job, brings queue DOWN

PROBLEM:
Customer has a remote queue to a SUN system. He queues up
150-200 files and the queue goes DOWN on the AIX system.

ACTION TAKEN:
lp -dq_name t1*

failed. When the same was attempted with a different wildcard
that matched only 24 files instead of 200, the lp worked.

 TEST CASE: I tested the above scenario on AIX 4.1.5 and AIX 4.2.
Both resulted in the error

Message from queueing system:
=====> MESSAGE FROM PRINT JOB 140 (junk0) \<=====
0782-043 Cannot specify more than 100 print files
        Check the number of files specified with your print request

showing up in the mail of the user submitting the job.

Therefore, there is a limit of 100 files per print job through
AIX 4.2.
