DCE: err msg 13 when bringing up infoexplorer, user HOME in DFS

 ENV: AIX 4.2.1 43P 

 PROBLEM: When he attempts to start infoexplorer as dce user, he gets

"operating system error 13"

If he runs info as root, it runs fine.

SOLUTION:

the infod process runs as root on that system, and will try to create
socket files in $HOME/info/tmp.  Since root does not have access to
this directory in DFS space, it fails.  Either give root access or
run

/usr/lpp/info/bin/info_gr
