Problems remapping the key board.

Question:

I have a RISC/6000 operating at 3.2.5. I am using CICS/6000 and I
am trying to remap my keyboard. I used some documentation that I
got from Info. The results of this are not consistent with what
Info states. I would like a call back from somebody that is
familiar remapping keyboards.

Response:

The customer was attempting to configure a .3270keys file for a
cicsterm session coming in via OS/2 TCP/IP using the "telnet"
program. Unfortunately, he was unable to get one of the mappings
working. After looking at the keycode returned from the telnet
client, it appears that the keycode contained the "~" (tilde)
character. This is a special code used by the .3270 key mapping
mechanism itself.

The solution was to escape the "~" character using the "\\" (backslash)
escape character.

So, if the keycode returned is "\\[123~", the entered code should be
"\\[123~".
