xstation 150 comes up with windows 50% of normal size.

Question:

Environment:

  Hardware: RS/6000 360 and Xstation 150
  Operating System: AIX 3.2.5 360

Description:

  I have a Xstation 150 that is booting off of a 360.

The login window as well as any windows that are opened after
logging in come up about 50% of their normal size.

Response:

Tried to add fonts to resolve login issue. The X11fnt.coreX.fnt
were missing on your system. Going to install X11fnt.coreX.fnt.

Customer called in and was successful in installing the core fonts.
I had the customer change to his /usr/lib/X11/fonts and do a mkfontdir
and then change the the /75dpi and the /100dpi and do the same thing.
He does not have a /misc directory which is okay because most of the
fonts come from 75 and 100dpi. It is nothing we need to worry about.
Made sure that he had all of the font path specified in the config
file in /etc/x_st_mgr. He did not so we added /usr/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi,
/usr/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi. He is going to go re-boot the xstation 150.

First, had him create a new user with no . files for
customization in the $HOME directory and this in turn brought up aixterms
with the normal system defaults. Therefore, modifications made in either the
.mwmrc,.xinitrc., .Xdefaults or .profile are changing this parameter.
The system wide defaults are listed below.

  MWMRC /usr/lib/X11/system.mwmrc
  XINIT /usr/lpp/X11/defaults/xinitrc
  Xdefaults /usr/lpp/X11/defaults/Xdefaults.tmpl

At this point what he should do is save the corresponding . file one at a
time as something. Let the user login and see if the problem is present.
If it is not, the modifications being made are causing the problem.
By doing this the system wide files are being accessed. Can compare the
modifications of his . files to see what may be doing this.

Login window problem was fixed by adding the proper fonts
  to the xstation path (/etc/x_st_mgr).
