                    Authorized Gravis Node Policy Document
                           Revised Feb 16th, 1993

There are a few basic tidbits of information that we wish to lay
out for you here - nothing fancy, just some tips to keep you up to date.

1.0 - General requirements for all Gravis Nodes
                2.0 - Your BBS Information
3.0 - Where to turn for help

1.0 - Requirements for all Gravis Nodes

                  1.1 - Polling Gravis
1.2 - ANSI / high ASCII in messages
1.3 - Standard ZIP archiving method
1.4 - Hatching of files into the net

To be called an 'Authorized Gravis Node' you will need the following:

             A valid Fidonet node number
Carry all Gravis file and message areas. Refer to
              GRAVECHO.TXT for a current list
             Be approved by Advanced Gravis

1.1 - Polling Gravis

I expect traffic to be somewhere between 1-5Mb per week for all
mail and files. However, if we have a major update you can expect
the traffic to be as higher. All nodes will be required to POLL
Gravis at 1:153/978 at least once per week.

1.2 - ANSI / high ASCII in messages

You must disable high bit ASCII and ANSI color codes from all your
out going mail. There are many communications programs and computer platforms
that do not support ANSI, and having these codes in the message base
can cause lockups of these systems.

1.3 - Standard ZIP archiving method

Currently, PKZip v1.10 is the preferred format for all files transferred
through Gravis. If PKZip v2.x ever settles down then we may consider
    a switch.

1.4 - Hatching of files into the net

If you would like to HATCH a file to other Gravis nodes you MUST
first hatch it into GUS_HAT, and send a netmail message to John Smith
letting me know that it is there.

It is strongly recommended that you hatch only NEW files that
    directly relate to Gravis products.

2.0 - Your BBS Information

We will be compiling a list of all Graivs Nodes. Including phone
number, themes, baud rates, locations etc... This information will
be made available via the net and also through a special readme that
we will be sending out with future distribution disks.
