The New Team-Web Add-on product lets you access Team from anywhere

Alexsys Team-Web is a web based version of Team that permits you to access Team via an Internet, Intranet, or dialup. Team-Web is an add-on product to Team that works in conjunction with Alexsys Team. A fully functional Trial version of Team-Web is included in the standard install package.

Team-SQL now supports Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 and 6.5

Just set up a new database and account on your SQL server and Team will upload your current database. From then on, Team runs with your tables from your SQL server. Team-SQL supports Microsoft SQL server 6.5 and Microsoft SQL server 7.0.

Team-SQL Beta Program Begins

Alexsys Team-SQL

Team-SQL is the client/server version of Team that allows you to use Alexsys Team with Microsoft SQL Server. Team has been optimized using native SQL to achieve maximum performance with minimal network traffic. This makes it much faster at database sorts and filtering while maintaining our easy to use interface. Other than the performance boost, the features and feel of Team are unchanged.

Our database utility has been updated with a new interface and an 'SQL Setup' option for simple upgrades. The process is as follows:

• Install Microsoft SQL Server *
• Create a Database for Team to use
• Run the Team Database Utility and fill in the database and login information
• Press the Connect and Upload buttons to copy your database to the server

Team 98.5, even when registered, can run the trial version of Team-SQL, so there is nothing new to download. If you have Microsoft SQL Server, you have everything you need to try Team-SQL today.

* Microsoft SQL server version 7.0 or 6.5 is required. Other versions have not been validated.

New Dialog to Change the Location of Linked Attachments

The Change Attachment Paths dialog ("Admin/Change Attachment Paths" menu) has been added to permit globally changing the location of all linked attachments. This is useful if you move the attachment directory or Team server to a new location.

Support for Alexsys Team-Web

A fully functional Trial version of Team-Web is shipped with the standard install package that provides:

• Fast access to Team via the Internet
• Fast access to Team via remote networking (i.e. dial-up networking)
• Access to Team from non-Windows platforms (i.e. UNIX and MAC)
• Free access to view Team data without additional licenses. (Editing requires Team-Web
  licenses)
• Customers can check status of requests. (Access is restricted for Guest users)
• A simplified web-style interface to Team.

Support for Microsoft SQL Server 7.0

Team-SQL supports both Microsoft SQL server 7.0 and 6.5. For information on how to set up Team-SQL using MS SQL 7.0, please consult the "FAQ's" (Frequently Asked Questions) page on our website at www.alexcorp.com.

Improved Year 2000 support

You can now use 2-digit years in your dates and Team will assume that years 00-48 are 2000 based and years 49-99 are 1900 based.

Enhancements in 98.6

• Attachments in Mail are now imbedded for HTML and Text mail and notifications. Most contemporary mail programs like Outlook and Eudora will display HTML mail in the message body.
• The Database Utility includes the option for uploading the database to Oracle.
• License Key information can now be included as part of a product installation.
• Added SQL info to Trial Version descriptions to make it obvious that you are running Team-SQL. Before, SQL was only displayed when you were actually licensed to run SQL.
• The Database Utility now removes old lock files used  by Team Standard to improve table repairs.
• The Database Utility can now be run directly from the NT server hosting the database, improving the performance and reliability of repairs.

Fixes in 98.6.1

• The Due Date, Days Left, and Days Overdue fields now compute the earliest date by comparing the Target, Next Action, and Target Table Delivery Date fields.
• Team-Web now works properly when installed on systems that upgrade existing Team-SQL sites.
  The new Team-Web version is 1.0.1.0.
• Team installs that upgrade existing sites running Team Versions early than 98.5 now upgrade the database correctly.
  (The Contexts.db error no longer occurs during the database upgrade)

Fixes in 98.6

• The Database Utility will upload an SQL database even if LogChg table has a null ID.
• Team now supports NT users that do not have administrative privileges.
• When opening Reports and Lists from a file, those reports and lists that have only sorts or only filters will display the correct sorts or filters now.
• Team Lists will show progress when opened from files.
• The msclient install program is no longer offered for Team-SQL. You must always use the Microsoft or Oracle client software to set up your PC for SQL. This was done to avoid potential version conflicts.
• No longer get an error that the SMTP setting is required if you do not have private settings checked and you are using the SMTP for mail or notifications. 
• No longer supporting UU-Encoding for SMTP mail. MIME encoding is supported.
